I painted this from a photo I got from Paint my photo, online. It is a really wonderful site where people from all over the world donate photos, copyright free.
I am going to put a dark red orange frame on this for a Christmas gift.

  3. Very nice, love the detail and the colors. What did you paint it on, did it have the background or did you add it in? It works!!

    1. Hey Nelvia, Thank you! I painted this on Christmas wrap paper that was mounted onto hardboard using acrylic matte medium and a barely moistened paper (done with a sponge and water). Then, after the paper was dry, I isolated it by covering it with slow drying acrylic matte medium. When that was totally dry, I started the painting in acrylic and then switched to oil. This was the first time I have done this and will probably do it again!!

  6. Hi Judith! So happy that you have my Christmas Deer #1!!!! AWWWWWW!!! I can make you this one if you like. It won't be exact but a very close. I am coming up to Boise on Nov 11 and than I can show it to you and you can decide if you would like to buy it. I would sell it for the same price as the Christmas Deer #1. minus $10 because it will not have a frame. I could bring some frames for you to look at if you like, though. Thanks so much for your interest Judith.( I like this one too! )
